BF5 Game Files - Side Quest

    "Hey Lex," Spinner Cortez called over his shoulder one afternoon as he stretched out for a day of gaming.

    Lex O'Rourke perked up from the documents he was perusing. "Oi?" he asked, "What's up?"

    Spinner pulled up their game file for 'Baten Kaitos: Origins'. "We forgot one of the important and fun side quests."

    Lex adjusted his glasses before moving to sit beside the gamer on the sofa. "We rebuilt th' Magus city. I thought that was th' largest side quest in th' game."

    Spinner shook his head before flying the Sfida to the island select screen. "Don't you recall that we were trying to finish the Colosseum and got stuck on rank four?"

    Lex chewed his lower lip in thought. In order to check the game off of their 'to do' list they had been playing marathon sessions, and had finally bested the final boss, watched the credits, and saved their clear data. When he saw the gamer select the Colosseum he recalled that they had stopped with that side quest, as the next part of the rank 4 quest had yet to trigger. "Buggeration," he muttered, picking up Spinner's laptop to check a gaming forum site, "what did we do wrong?"

    Spinner shrugged before he started playing one of the Colosseum matches. "Not sure," he replied as he started entering card chains for battle commands. "You tell me."

    The only sounds in the lounge for the next few minutes came from the game and the sound of Lex's fingers dancing over the laptop's keyboard. "Did we chat with th' registration lady?" the Irishman asked at last.

    "Of course," Spinner replied, "smalltalk is an amazing thing. Why?"

    Lex sighed. "I thought so. There's a glitch in th' game's programming that will lock ye out o' th' Rank 5 matches if ye make smalltalk with th' registration lass on a regular basis."

    Spinner juggled the wireless controller for a moment before gawking at the Irishman. "Say what?! We shagged ourselves by being chatty? Is there a fix for it? I don't want to have to replay seventy-plus-hours of game to clear the Colosseum."

    Lex continued typing for a few moments. "One user said ta replay all o' th' matches from rank one through rank four, then leave and find a shop ta check yer mail."

    Spinner took a long drink from his sports drink. "Then it's time to rock and roll!"

    An hour and a half later Spinner finished the last of the rank 4 battles. He steered his party to a save flower before returning to their ship. On the island select map, he steered toward the main character's home island. Lex held his breath as Spinner entered the shop in Sagi's hometown, then nearly fell off of the sofa in surprise when the shop lady announced that the party had a new letter for Milly.

    "That's th' letter that will trigger th' event that will finally allow ye ta enter rank five battles," the Irishman whispered. "We did it lad!"

    Spinner sighed. "Well, that was part one," he said, "part two is finding this guy in Tarazed before we can access rank five."

    Lex smiled and took the controller from the gamer. "Then it's time ta send out th' search party."
