"Fortune should be just ahead of you," Leon reported via DS's PDA as the guardian in training dashed through the darkened city streets.

DS quelled the urge to roll his eyes as the shadows cast by the streetlights began to undulate. Skidding to a stop, he slipped the PDA into the breast pocket of his vest before summoning his hammer. "I've got more pressing matters at the moment," he replied, the head of his hammer shining with golden light.

The undulating darkness quickly transformed into a small army of lesser Heartless. The Heartless quickly surrounded him and wasted no time in becoming one giant pain in the rear. He narrowed his eyes at his foes as he assumed one of the combat stances taught to him by Leon and Cid. "I seriously don't have time for this right now," he explained to the amassed Heartless, "so I hope you'll all forgive me if I...."

He was cut off as a large burst of dark energy sailed over his head. Looking up, he whistled in surprise when he spotted a higher level Heartless in the shape of a dragon bearing down on his position. "I see," he remarked as he began to spin his hammer around in his right hand, the weapon whistling as the rotational speed increased. Shifting his weight to his left foot, a smirk crossed his lips as he launched himself into the crowd of Heartless before him.

Valkyrian sang as he mowed through the mob, Heartless flying through the air before exploding into showers of dust. Larger and stronger Heartless began to emerge from the shadows as their flying forces amassed and commenced a strafing run. DS hurled his hammer through the air before performing a rapid series of cartwheels and flips out of the path of fire. He used a rather large Heartless as a stepping stone to launch himself into the air, where he caught his weapon. Holding the hammer head to the sky, silver and golden light swirled around the weapon as he cried out, "JUDGEMENT!"

Bolts of silver and gold light rained down upon the battlefield, Heartless of all levels bursting into showers of glitter from the attack. He flipped backward as gravity asserted itself and launched his weapon at the airborne Heartless before clapping his hands together, blue light flowing around his fingertips. "Freeze," he whispered as he launched his spell at Valkyrian, the spinning hammer absorbing and amplifying his magical energies.

Blue light filled the area as a Blizzaga spell was transformed into a Diamond Dust attack, the airborne Heartless quickly realizing that they were about to be grounded. DS landed in a crouch, his weapon returning to his hand. In one graceful motion he rose to his feet, spun around, and drove his weapon into the ground, bolts of white light Cris-crossing up the street before detonating beneath the intended targets.

Light quickly returned to the street as DS resumed running. "Can I get a sit-rep?" he asked as he rounded a corner into an alley, where he quickly scaled the walls with a series of jumps.

"You're almost there," Leon replied, "One block to go."

'Hang on Fortune,' DS thought as he jumped the gap between two rooftops, 'Backup is almost there.'
